![]() This wasn't just a step or two back for the series, but a full on faceplant. If you are going to give quick time type action sequences then the controls need to be way better than what was in this game. The vast majority of my deaths were during the platforming section via crappy camera angles. I'm guessing the QA team was ignored to push this game to release as the controls felt like absolute crap at times. Honestly if the story was a Netflix series it would have been cancelled midway through the first season. Like half of them made no sense cinematically, either making the enemies have storm trooper aim from a foot away or Lara having the strongest story armor. Also, I get that the Uncharted series raised the bar on action sequences that are unbelievable but the execution of them in this game were god awful. Many important world building pieces are left to the collectibles found in game forcing important story context to either be missed or come in at the wrong time. I only finished it as I wanted to see how the series ended and honestly that was a mistake. This content requires the base game Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Steam in order to play. If this was the first game I wouldn't have bought the rest.
